Sussex Public House

Had a great experience here with my friends on Saturday night. We came in during a later time and ended up being probably the last guests in the building. (Side note, why do Rehoboth restaurants/bars seem to close early? Especially on a weekend night?) We only had dessert and shots, but the desserts were amazing. The Tiramisu “Martini” was extraordinarily rich and flavorful. The staff was friendly, even though it was closing time. I would come back to try other menu items/drinks...very good job!

Excellent all around. Very friendly staff as well. We came with our two children and they have a kids menu. Also high chairs for your little ones. My husband had the smothered burger and said it was delicious. I shared chicken tenders with my son and my daughter had a burger, both delicious. Also, the fries are cooked to perfection as well. There is also an extensive ale menu as well with speciality IPAs. Would recommend this place and would eat here again!

Honestly this place is amazing. The food and service were 5 stars! The wait staff are attentive and the chef came out to check on our food. This is a new restaurant and if you’re considering it you should definitely come support them, you will be so happy you did!

10/10 Stumbled upon this place as I was walking down Rehoboth after being turned away from two other restaurants (understandably it was a Saturday evening in June) and I walked in with my dog. The manager was awesome, sat me on the patio and the service was phenomenal. Amazing food too! Do yourself a service and stop by Sussex Public House — you won’t regret it! I know I didn’t!

We ended up in a Goldilocks situation where the first restaurant we went to turned us away, the second was way too loud, then like magic SPH was there and just right. This restaurant is outstanding! We came in, sat down, and were immediately impressed with the clean design of the location and the friendliness of the staff. I tried to sort through the draft menu, which has excellent detail and description, before opening up the regular menu and seeing some great specialty drinks. I got the campfire old fashioned and it just worked. The description looked like a lot, but it just worked together really well. The smoke laden presentation like the fire had just gone out was excellent and left a slight lingering smokiness that was complementary and not overpowering. The bartender balanced the ingredients with such a high level of skill that I would not be afraid to try anything on the drink menu. The food items came quickly as we ordered them and the chef's skill matched the bartender. Simple things were done uncommonly well. The chicken wings had a perfect fry on them with a crispy exterior and not overcooked interior. As someone who has lived in the Carolinas, the Carolina style barbecue was more of a honey mustard barbecue than a real Carolina style, but was delicious. The seafood food flight my wife ordered was equally well prepared. I got the butcher's flight and it has to be the first time in decades for me that a grilled chicken breast from a restaurant was juicy and flavorful like that. The steaktips on it were great as well. The side house salads were really good and even the sauteed vegetables had significant flavor. Our biggest regret was that we were too stuffed for dessert, even with two boxes coming home. The menu there had some interesting looking items that would no doubt be outstanding if the chef or team bakes as good as they grill and cook. Highly recommended.

Brand new place. A group of 12 came and they treated us like royalty. First time for them to be open post covid restrictions but they did great. Food was amazing, server was amazing drinks were amazing. Remember everywhere is short on staff so be respectful. The server was very transparent, which we respected. Regardless service was still good and food was f*% bomb.

A hidden gem in the beach area. Food is always extremely fresh and menu is very unique. Prices are not that bad, especially if you sit by the bar and visit during happy hour. Great beer selection. Friendly staff that was giving us several suggestions on what to order from the menu. Slightly upscale, but at the same time it was laid back.

My boyfriend and I were looking for a good meal our last night in Rehoboth and boy did we find it! We had the butcher's food flight and even ordered an extra round of the steak tips because they were so delicious! Our waiter, Eddie, really made our night. He was extremely attentive and friendly providing us with suggestions for the best items to try. If you are looking for a fantastic meal and excellent service, you've got to check this place out. Can't wait to come back!
